There was this one girl,

Who was a very close friend,

A person on whom,

I could always depend.

She was my angel,

She made me smile,

Though life was never easy,

She made it worth-while

For so many years,

From beginning to end,

We were always together,

Like a perfect blend.

Each waking moment,

Since the day we met,

I have always loved her,

From sunrise to sunset.

Through all these years,

Our friendship grew,

I have always loved her,

But she never knew.

Slowly she drifted away,

To a different shore,

Leaving me across the sea,
